About this project:
The MSG Sphere, located in Los Vegas, is 366 feet tall and 516 feet wide, and is the worlds largest spherical structure. Approximately 4,500 sheets of Kalzip's standing seam were used on the sphere's exosphere, which was then covered by 1.2 million pucks.
Challenge:
The Sphere had a multitude of challenges to overcome, including the building's size, building's shape, panel shape, delivery time, and the fact that this occurred during the years of the Pandemic. All of these details created many difficulties in finishing the sphere in time.
Solution:
Kalzip was chosen for this project, as their panels provided the perfect solution to the challenges the Sphere would face. Kalzip first needed to analyze the surface geometry, and then manufacturer their panels on site, taking in all necessary details, including how Kalzip would fit on the surface, how the panels needed to be shaped and size, and making sure to include certain holes that were needed. Kalzip also had to be sure that the panels arrived in Vegas on time, which they were able to do, even among the pandemic.
